I welcome parent/family volunteers to assist during reading instruction. Assisting involves reading to students as they follow along and listening to students as they read. Asking questions about the reading material is part of the activity. Please let me know if you can volunteer (307-5400). As a way to help your child with homework, I recommend making a xerox copy of the homework assignment so that your child can underline, circle, and put a box around key words and ideas. We are practicing this skill in class. The students are asked to write the definition of unknown words and draw pictures of events to improve reading comprehension.
